We all have our role to play in this Covid-19 scenario. Firstly, we all need to keep praying! As the numbers of Covid-19 positive cases increase in the Western Cape, so have the numbers of infected parishioners increased. Keep them and their families in your daily prayers please, the uncertainty is often worse than the virus itself.

HUNGER IS REAL FUND
Then we need to keep supporting the Hunger is Real Fund. The support of parishioners in this programme has been staggering. We need to keep going, to keep recognising the needs of our brothers and sisters and to keep responding – thank you!

COMMUNIO is a network of communication within our parish where we have contacted every family on our parish records in person. The aim is to feel connected, at least by a call – but also, if there are any needs, there is someone from Our Lady of the Visitation to help. Please also feel free to contact your COMMUNIO leader with questions, as they too will be kept informed. If you have not been contacted, or are happy to take on calling 10 parishioners, please contact the office as soon as possible. Let us stay connected, and be a community through these very trying and isolating times.
AUDIO VISUAL CENTRE
Our current setup is somewhat ‘Heath Robinson’ looking at the front of the church. When there was no congregation, this worked fine, but it was never intended to be a permanent solution. Indeed it was hurriedly put together in a matter of a few days when lock down was announced in March, and it has served us well.
We are in the process now of installing a more permanent AudioVisual (AV) Centre at the back of the church. One of the benefits of this is that we will have more flexibility with camera movement and angles and also additional video editing capabilities. This means we can use more of the altar and pave the way to re-introducing the ministry of proclaiming the Word.
Father will need to learn to stop answering all the responses! But as quickly as he picked up and learned how to operate live streaming, so he will surely adapt back to that! <big grin>
We need people to help with this. If you have AV/streaming skills or would like to learn a useful skill, please let us know. It is not complicated or demanding and we will train you. Please contact us to find out more or to volunteer – email: Karen.firstname.lastname@example.org or call the Parish Office.
